A Deal?

Back on June 30th, my hubby discovered a leak under the kitchen sink, while in the process of trying to repair the leak he accidently spilled the purple cleaner on the kitchen floor.....it doesn't clean up.

So, just by chance he found new flooring on clearance at Lowe's.  What was originally 84 cents per square yard, we got for 20 cents per square yard. So for $27 we got enough flooring to do the kitchen. It was a great DEAL!...Right?

No, not really. It turns out that it was the kind of flooring that needed to be glued down.  The cost of the glue...$24 per gallon (we needed 3 gallons). Then we discovered that we didn't have enough flooring (we needed 3 more boxes , that's another $9) and our Lowe's was all out.  We had to drive an hour and a half to find another Lowe's with what we needed. A tank of gas is about $40, plus we had to stop to get food, that was about $20.

Then there is the molding, 5 pieces at $9 each, and the threshold 3 pieces at $16 each.  So for about $261, I got a brand new kitchen floor.   Oh but it is pretty!   What a DEAL! :)
